Silvia Barisione is chief curator at The Wolfsonian–FIU, Miami Beach. Previously she has been founding curator at the Wolfsonian a in Genoa, Italy. Her research focuses primarily on twentieth-century design and material culture. She has curated or co-curated numerous exhibitions including Rebirth of Rome, ModernDutch Design, Deco: Luxury to Mass Market and Shameless: Bas van Beek.
For the Guggenheim in New York, she was an advisor to the exhibition ItalianFuturism 1909–1944. In 2014 she has been bestowed Cavaliere dell’Ordine della Stella d’Italia (Knight of the Order of the Star ofItaly) by the Italian government as an outstanding expatriate promoting national prestige abroad.
